Nine members of the Dental Technicians Registration Board are appointed by the Governor under section 6(1) of the Dental Technicians Registration Act 1975 as follows.

6(1)(a) One is an officer of the Department of Health nominated by the Minister for Health, who is not a dental technician or a dentist

6(1)(b) One is a dentist nominated by the Dental Board constituted under the Dentists Act 1989
   
  Sybille Katherine Lechner
   
6(1)(c) One is a dentist nominated by the Board of control of the United Dental Hospital of Sydney
   
  Alicja Smiech
   
6(1)(d)

One is a dental technician nominated by the Dental Technicians' Association of New South Wales

6(1)(e) One is a dental technician nominated by the Australian Commercial Dental Laboratories Association of New South Wales

The Board was appointed for a three year term of office on and from 6 September 2006.
* Keith William James Anderton was appointed on 23 January 2008 following the resignation of Graham James Key.


Note The member referred to in subsection (1)(a);

(a) is to be an officer of the Department of Health, an employee of an area health service constituted under the Area Health Services Act 1986 or an employee of an incorporated hospital or separate institution within the meaning of the Public Hospitals Act 1929; and
(b) is, in and by the relevant instrument of appointment as a member, to be appointed as Chairperson of the Board.
